My Soul Sauce Workouts are lovingly crafted to jolt you into PHYSICAL FEATS you didn’t know you had inside you.

These animal-infused fitness routines feature my ALL TIME FAV FITNESS MOVES and have it all: CORE, CARDIO, STRENGTH and STRETCH!

Each workout incorporates body-weight movements to build strength, improve flexibility and range of motion, and boost cardiovascular capacity—all while targeting just about every major muscle group! NO EQUIPMENT NEEDED!

Each workout is alchemically choreographed to WAKE YOU UP, BOOST CIRCULATION, FLUSH TOXINS, RELEASE STRESS AND OTHER NEGATIVE EMOTIONS, IMPROVE YOUR MOOD, and RECLAIM THE POWER THAT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS.

I like to imagine that in these workouts—as in a poem—we are reconnecting with our animal selves, that when we move like a Spider or a Starfish or a Baby Bear or a Butterfly or a Fox, we are channeling the medicine of that animal. Almost inevitably, we grow coordination, cognition, and confidence.

The Spider, for example, teaches us to invest in the process. The Starfish knows how to go with the flow. The Butterfly sacrifices herself on the altar of total transformation (think waistlines). And the Fox knows how to shapeshift—from starlet to spy.

Plus, these workouts are FUN. And I just want fitness to be FUN for everyone, OK. I think that fitness isn’t something you add on or fit into your life, it’s the FOUNDATION of a lively creative life. And you, too, can inject intentional healthy doses into your busy schedule. (The mini Spider takes fifteen minutes, ya’ll!)

The workouts here are DIY; you can pick and choose, mix and match, explore the animal that’s most resonant with you right now.

The OWL STRENGTH + STRETCH

The OWL’s lesson: you can’t use up creativity.

The more you use, the more you have! Owls are ENDLESSLY CREATIVE, and so is this 60-minute strength + stretch core workout! If you’ve hit a plateau with your abdominal wall, the inventive moves in this workout will help you to make a leap in your core strength!

Along the way, you'll learn some creative strategies for turning a situation/project/relationship around, and seeing it from as many perspectives as possible. As we work all the way around our core—abdominals, lower back, glutes—we’ll dig deep into muscles and points of view we didn’t know we had!

There are four rounds of exercise, juxtaposed with short, accessible creative provocations for making cognitive leaps, all inspired by sounds that owls make:

Round #1 | WOAH—What do you need less of in your life? Let's empty our psychic junk drawer, and flush any trespassers down the drain!

Round #2 | YOU—How does creativity play out in. your life? Are you a clever cook? Do you create soulful social gatherings? Can you fix anything with chopsticks and duct tape?

Round #3 | HOOT—When you close your eyes and listen for spirit, tuning inward to find guidance from within, what messages do you receive?

Round #4 | HOOT—How do you work with the info from dreams and meditation, from intuition and inner-knowing?

The GREEN PARROT STRENGTH + STRETCH

This 30-minute core workout is choreographed to help you listen to, befriend, and collaborate with your inner critic—while digging deep into core muscles you didn’t know you had!

The GREEN PARROT combines classic restorative yoga poses like down dog, up dog, legs up the wall, headstand prep, and straddle with fresh takes on core-strengthening moves like the crunch, the bicycle, the reverse curl, and the plank to STRENGTHEN and STRETCH simultaneously. Along the way, you’ll METABOLIZE and RELEASE any unhelpful stories, thoughts, emotions, and feelings your inner critic is stirring up.

The complex movements in this workout will give your mind another focus, get you out of your head and into your body, build cardiovascular capacity, tone your entire body, and FLUSH the stress and other toxins out of your system, so you can listen to, befriend, and collaborate with your inner critic!

The GREEN PARROT follows my 4-step self-reflective method:

1. WHUT: WHUT do you want from me? WHUT do you need help with? WHUT are you trying to protect me from? WHUT is it that you don't want me to feel or experience? WHUT stories are you telling me about myself and WHUT emotions is it bringing up?

2. WHY: WHY is this story so important to you? WHY tell this story, now?

3. WHO: WHO are you? WHO’s voice is this? Are you a part of my internal family system, or an external voice I’ve internalized? If I could see you are you physically are, how would you appear? Do you like criticizing/judging me? Would you like to be doing something else?

4. HOW: HOW can I open my heart to be in dialogue with you? HOW can I turn the volume down so I can hear what you’re trying to say? HOW can we help each other? HOW will I feel about this in a day/week/month/year and what can I do to get there sooner?

In each phase you will physically spell WHUT, WHY, WHO, and HOW with your body. As you make these core-strengthening alphabet shapes, you’ll meditate on WHUT your inner critic wants to protect you from, WHY she’s telling you these stories or bringing up these emotions, WHO she is (a part of you, or an external voice you’ve internalized), and HOW you can collaborate with her.
